What is Rainbow Ink and what is it used for in Fortnite?

Rainbow Ink is used to unlock different styles for the Toona Fish Battle Pass skin. The color bottles are used to unlock the first set of styles, from there Rainbow Ink unlocks the character styles and future styles to be added in the next major update.

Where to find Fortnite rainbow ink (spawn locations)

Unlike this season's alien artifacts and this season's colored bottles, there are no set spawn locations where you can find and collect rainbow ink. You will likely come across the ink without even trying, as you can find it in any chest.

Rainbow Ink Fortnite

Obviously, there is not a 100% chance that you will get Rainbow Ink from a chest, so you will need to find and open as many chests as you can to get ink on your hands. We're not sure, but we assume you'll have a guaranteed or better chance of getting ink from the Cosmic or new cube chests.
