How to spectate in fortnite -  A long-requested feature for Fortnite is the ability to look at your friends. You know how it works, you log in, but your friend is already in a game, so you have to try and time it correctly to finish both games at the same time, or sit there and wait. 

The good news is that the arrival of Fortnite Chapter 2 means that you can now watch your friends, under certain conditions.

How To Spectate Your Friends in Fortnite Chapter 2

The first thing to know about spectator friends is that they need to be in the lobby together. If so, you can click on your friend's name and select the viewer options.

As long as they have been playing a game for at least 30 seconds after the crash, you will be able to see them. You can't look before the drop, so if your friend is still waiting for the Battle Bus to appear, you'll have to wait.
 

You can also see when everyone in the lobby is watching or playing a game. If a person in the lobby isn't doing any of those things, they won't be able to see. This is an unusual aspect of the feature, and at this time, it is unknown if this is a planned aspect or just a bug that needs to be fixed.
 

Loading can also take a bit of time, so don't worry too much if you have to wait a minute or two for the spectator feature to kick-up. The good news is that you no longer need to sit there while your friend finishes the game, but you can see their efforts and maybe even train them to win.
